RESIDENT RETURN VISA (RRV) - Subclasses 155, 157 and 159

You will qualify for a resident return visa if you have spent two years in the last five years residing in Australia as a permanent resident. Alternatively, if you have substantial business, cultural, employment or personal ties which are of benefit to Australia and you have not been absent from Australia for more than five years unless there were compelling and compassionate reasons and you held a permanent resident visa when you left, then you may qualify for a resident return visa also.

 Original passport(s) including your previous resident visa(s) with Australian arrival and departure stamps if possible
*If you will need your original passport while your application is being processed, you may first send a photocopy - we will then ask you for your passport if the visa application is granted.

 If you have lived in Australia for LESS than two out of the last five years, then you need to send us the fee, your passport, the application form and the resident return questionnaire

 Original passport(s) including your previous resident visa if it has been mutilated

 Photocopy of your lost or stolen passport which included your previous resident visa if it is still in your possession

 Copy of the declaration of loss or theft of your passport to the relevant authorities

Applications by mail

If you are applying by mail, please note the following:

IF YOU ARE RESIDENT IN FRANCE - Please also enclose a self-addressed envelope with 3.70 Euros postage together with a form 'Preuve de depot SANS avis de réception' obtained from the post office.
If you would like to have your passport returned by Chronopost, please enclose a pre-paid Chronopost envelope.
IF YOU ARE RESIDENT OUTSIDE FRANCE - Please also enclose a self-addressed envelope with 7 International Response Coupons, purchased at the post office, to cover postal costs.
EXPRESS COURIER - If you would like to have your passport returned to you by express courier, once a decision has been made on your application you must organise the passport collection with the courier at your own expense and inform us when the passport will be collected (passports can be collected between 9h30 and 12h30 or 14h00 and 17h00 from Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays).
