We operate an appointments system
Our office processes visa applications from nationals and residents of the following countries:
Metropolitan France (NOT the French DOMs or TOMs), Belgium, Luxembourg, the Principalities of Monaco and Andorra
If you currently reside in another country, please contact the relevant office for information on how to lodge your application.

Applications may be sent to us by mail for processing.
Please note that you will require an appointment in order to visit the Visa Office.
If we identify a need for an appointment, we will make a time with you during our counter client hours of 10 am to 12 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday except for the Embassy’s Public Holidays. This also means that we can ensure that the service you require will be available.

Contacting us by email
All pre-visa lodgement enquiries may be done via the online enquiry facility: www.immi.gov.au/contacts/forms/europe/occ/

Contacting us by phone
All telephone enquiries for visa, immigration and citizenship information are to be directed to the Information Service on Australian Visas (ISAV). This service is available in both French and English languages.
+ 001 905 280 1437 (international call costs apply).
The ISAV telephone enquiry service is available between 4PM - 11PM (Paris Western European Time)
Clients calling ISAV can expect the following services:
• average call waiting time of 30 seconds prior to an ISAV operator answering your call;
• access to information in one of four languages, English, French, Spanish & Portuguese;
• follow up emails sent after the phone call providing links to forms, fee, processing times and instructions on how to apply and
• Assistance for clients that have already submitted an application on the internet to our Department by providing status updates on their applications.

Letters / documents in support of an application
If you wish to disclose any further information in relation to your existing application, please send a mail, fax or email. If you wish to support a visa application lodged by another person, please send your letter of support directly to the applicant and ask them to lodge it with their application. This Section is not able to hold documents pending the receipt of applications.
When you send supplementary documents in relation to a visa application, it is essential that you quote the applicant's name and date of birth, the date of application, type of visa applied for and receipt number (if applicable), so that the documents can be matched with the application.

Document receipt
Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged by a letter unless the application is finalised within 7 days. The Section is unable to acknowledge receipt of other documents. A receipt will be issued for payment of any fee.

Finalised applications
If you are enquiring about a decision on a finalised visa application, please note that, owing to resource considerations, the Section is unable to respond to correspondence from applicants or inviters/sponsors in Australia about refused applications. Please refer to the letter provided to the applicant or sponsor which sets out the reasons for the decision and explains the options available, including whether the decision is reviewable in Australia. This office can not undertake reassessment or review of unsuccessful applications.

Disclosure of information to third parties
Under the terms of the Australian Privacy Act, we cannot provide information about applications to third parties. If you wish to have another person receive all written communication about your application, you should complete form 956 and attach it to your application.

Please note that all enquiries related to E-visas should be sent directly to the relevant helpdesk. Please note that E-visa applications are lodged and processed in Australia.
If you want to enquire about an application that you have already lodged on the internet, you can check the status of your application and/or download the approval letter here using your Transaction Reference Number (TRN – the reference number with 10 numbers and/or letters given to you after you have lodged and paid for your internet application)
