If you wish to visit Australia for tourism, a family visit or a business visit for less than three months AND you hold a passport from an ETA eligible country, you must obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). This can be obtained directly on the Internet by visiting the immigration website in Australia OR in less than one minute by your travel agent through their airline reservation system.

Information for passport holders from ALL OTHER COUNTRIES
If you DO NOT hold a passport from one of the ETA eligible countries and you wish to visit Australia for tourism, a family visit or a business visit, then you will need to make an application for a visa at the Australian embassy, regardless of how long you intend to stay in Australia.
