VACANCY
DRIVER / CLERK
(Gross Monthly Salary € 1745.30- negotiable upon experience + overtime)
Applications are invited from persons interested in the position of Driver / Clerk at the Australian Embassy, Paris.
The duty statement and the selection criteria for the position are attached.

DUTY STATEMENT
1. Undertake driving duties as a pool driver in a safe and courteous manner. Undertake relief driving duties for Head of Mission. Comply with the rules and regulations for driving in France (or other country as appropriate). Availability to work irregular hours during busy periods.
2. Plan, in advance, appropriate routes to destinations and provide accurate timing for travel. Maintain accurate vehicle running sheets in accordance with instructions.
3. Regularly clean and maintain the vehicles and advise the Visits and Transport Manager of maintenance requirements.
4. Undertake general office duties, including mail opening, franking of mail and delivery of mail to the post office.
5. Undertake clerical work as part of the Embassy’s visits program and other duties as directed.
SELECTION CRITERIA
A. A good working level knowledge of English and French, both written and spoken. A valid work permit/visa for long term employment in France. A valid licence for driving in France and evidence of no driving infringements or convictions during the last 5 years.
B. Demonstrated experience and competence as a professional driver. Demonstrated ability to drive both sedans and minivans in all conditions, including both during the day and at night and within Paris and outside Paris, and use GPS or similar system. Applicants being considered for the position will be required to undertake and pass at a high level a driving test. Experience with defensive driving an advantage.
C. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow guidelines, instructions and procedures and to work effectively with other members of a team.
D. Previous experience in basic clerical functions and basic skills in using Word, Excel and the internet. Applicants being considered for the position will be required to undertake a test in Word, Excel and use of the internet.
