Personnel for Australian based companies
The Government is moving to simplify the process of lodging Temporary Business (Long Stay) visa sponsorships, nominations and applications. The new simplified approach is centred around lodgement over the internet.
FROM 1 NOVEMBER 2003, ALL AUSTRALIAN SPONSORED TEMPORARY BUSINESS (LONG STAY) SUBCLASS 457 VISA APPLICATIONS MUST BE LODGED EITHER IN AUSTRALIA OR OVER THE INTERNET.
LODGING ELECTRONICALLY
The easiest way will be for Australian sponsored visa applications to be lodged via the DIAC website. Visa applicants must include the nomination approval number or Transaction Reference Number (TRN). These numbers are provided to sponsors when the nomination is approved. Arrangements are also being made for all Australian sponsorship and nomination applications to be lodged electronically at this website.
LODGING WITH FORM 1066
Paper forms can still be lodged in Australia but will not benefit from the faster processing associated with electronic lodgement. To lodge paper forms, complete form 1066 Application for a long-stay temporary business visa, and lodge it with your payment at the DIAC Business Centre in Australia where your sponsor’s business sponsorship application was lodged. Your sponsor can tell you at which office their sponsorship application was lodged. Postal addresses for all DIAC Business Centres in Australia are available on the DIAC website
Non-Australian (Offshore) sponsored Temporary Business visa applications
FROM 1 DECEMBER 2006, FOR EXECUTIVE AND SPECIALIST PERSONNEL FROM COMPANIES NOT YET OPERATING IN AUSTRALIA- APPLICATIONS LODGED IN BERLIN.
Consult the website of the Australian Embassy in Berlin
